On this page you can wax poetic about anything you want, without having to be pissed off about it. From jellybeans to the existence of God, anything that's on your mind can be presented and debated and what not. To start with, I have added some of my own stuff and some interesting ideas I have stumbled on. To help this page grow, please submit some good thoughts. To keep up the freshness, it will be great if you can send in your own thoughts.

"We're the bridge across forever, arching above the sea, adventuring for our pleasure, living mysteries for the fun of it, choosing disasters, triumphs challenges, impossible odds, testing ourselves over and again, learning love and love and LOVE!"

-Richard Bach

Love it is when you have nothing to be sorry for

- Eric Seagal, Love story

i wonder most days why people try. i wonder why we pour out blood sweat and tears into things that we "think" matter. We continually try and better ourselves...for what, for someone, or something. People think that there is some higher purpose for their existence. What if there isn't? Would we stop trying? Would everyone throw down, and give up? If there is no reason for being here, nothing to accomplish - nothing to perfect - no one to control or control us...would we Exist?

"WHEN WE ARE MOTIVATED BY GOALS THAT HAVE DEEP MEANING,

BY DREAMS THAT NEED COMPLETION,

BY PURE LOVE THAT NEEDS EXPRESSING.................

....THEN,WE TRULY LIVE LIFE"

- Greg Anderson

This life has more value than a thing to discard or keep

Its existence stands apart from me and watches as I weep

I am not inconsequential though incidental still

I can take this gift or throw it away, but the value remains.........and always will.

Six blind men and an elephant
No point describing love and its repercussions to the world.
Everybody has a different perspective.
For most, satisfaction flees post marriage.
For a few, unrequited is as good as fulfilled.

Do you see the point?
So much yearning, so much hurt,
All in vain, to end up a woman spent.

Nights spent awake, days in a daze.
Everyone calls these pomes just another phase!

That's a lot of emotion wasted on poetry; one might as well romance a stone.

When life presents the chance....

Have you ever watched a circus act

High on a trapeze?

Wondered how they pirouette

With such poetic ease?

You too can dance to leave your mark

On this or any other page.

A trail of glittering footsteps

Across life's busy stage.

You have your special part to play,

No substitute will do.

You are the star, this is your cue,

The whole world waits for you!

Ever again

Youve always given me more than I could take to this heart

May it be pain or bliss

And, however, desperately I try to hold on to all that

Some times, it over flows

The result I cry and I laugh like Im insane.

With my sanity lost in just that, will I fall in love, ever again?

                                                                                        - Anand

Life is too strife-ridden already without you having to fit into some fancy shadow. I learnt that I would rather be loved by five people for the person I am, rather than 500 people who are in love with the myth that I created.

glasses_and_candles_11408.gif

Reality is an illusion built to make people believe they are happy. True happiness comes from within, and is not merely a result of personal success. Success, if you have ever noticed, can only be measured in man-made terms, such as wealth (money) accumulated, physical items possessed, or even in numbers of friends (or those people we wish to label as such). Success does not always lead to happiness, contrary to reality's standards. Happiness comes from the heart, in ways immeasurable by man. It is one of those great things in life that must be taken on faith alone. The things that make each of us individually happy are different, as a result of our own individual likes and dislikes, and yet they are all the same. Happiness is like a forest-fire. A smile, a true smile, will pass through a crowd of people faster than a hot knife through butter. The ideas of success and happiness are wholly independent, and only coincidentally co-exist on the rarest of occasions. True happiness stems from love.

However you dress it up, it's still the genetic dance.

Your choice: dance it or don't

Entertain me for the tenth hour in a row again

Anesthetize me with your gossip and any random anecdotes and

Fill every hour with activity or ear candy

Drop me off at intersections in any city metropolitan

And keep me in this state

And keep me purgatorying

And sing me back to sleep

This is far more than I had bargained for

~Alanis Morissette ~

Go over, go under, go around, or go thru...but never give up.

glasses_and_candles_11408.gif

If you think you are beaten, you are.

If you think you dare not, you won't.

Success begins with your own will...

It's all in your state of mind.

Life's battles are not always won

By those who are stronger or faster;

Sooner or later the person who wins

Is the person who thinks he can.

- Chaitu

A man's subconscious self is not the ideal companion. It lurks for the greater part of his life in some dark den of its own, hidden away, and emerges only to taunt and deride and increase the misery of a miserable hour.

- P. G. Wodehouse, Uneasy Money

You've been my soul mate and then some

I remembered you the moment I met you

With you I knew God' s face was handsome

With you I saw fun and expansion

Whatever we perceive in the world around us tends to reflect who we are and what we care about most deeply,as in the old saying, "When a thief sees a saint, all he sees are his pockets."

Robert Frager, Heart, Self and Soul, The Sufi Psychology of Growth, Balance and Harmony

seene mein jalan aankhon mein toofaan saa kyun hain ?
is shaher mein har shakhs pareshaan saa kyun hain ?

dil hain to, dhadakne kaa bahaanaa koi dhoonde
patthar ki tarah beheesa-o-bejaan saa kyun hain ?

tanhaee ki ye kaunsi, manzil hain rafeekon
taa-hadd-ye-najar yek bayaabaan saa kyun hain ?

kya koi nayi baat nazar aati hain hum mein
aaina humen dekh ke hairaan saa kyun hain ?

Give my sight to the man who has never seen a sunrise.
Give my heart to one who has known the agony of the heart.
Give my blood to a youth pulled from the wreckage of a car so that he might live to see his grandchildren play.
Let my kidneys drain the poison from another's body.
Let my bones be used to make a crippled child walk.

Burn what is left of me and scatter the ashes to the wind to let the flowers grow.
If you must bury something, let it be my faults and my prejudices against my fellowmen.
Give my sins to the Devil.
Give my soul to the God.
If you wish to remember me, do it with a kind deed or word to someone who needs you.
If you do all i've asked, i'll live for ever.

- Nani A. Phalkivala

glasses_and_candles_11408.gif

It doesn't interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for....
and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing.

It doesn't interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool
for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon.
I want to know if you have touched the center of the sorrow....
if you have been opened by life's betrayals or
have become shriveled and closed from fear or further pain.

I want to know if you can sit with pain....mine or your own
....without moving to hide it ..or fade it..or fix it.

I want to know if you can be with joy....mine or your own....
if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you
to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning you to be careful,
be realistic or to remember the limitations of being Human.

It doesn't interest me if the story you are telling me is true.
I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself.
...if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul.

I want to know if you can be faithful and therefore be trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see beauty even when it is not pretty every day
and if you can source your life from God's presence.

I want to know if you can live with failure....yours and mine....
and still stand on the edge of a lake and shout to the silver of the full moon....Yes!

It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up after the night of great despair,
weary and bruised to the bone and do what needs to be done for the children.
It doesn't interest me who you are....how you came here.
I want to know if you'll stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.

It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away
I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and
if you truly like the company you keep....in the empty moments....

'dhadakte dil ki tamanaoo mera pyaar ho tum
mujhe karaar nahin jab se bekaar ho tum.....
woh ghum haseen hai jis ghum ke zimeedar ho tum'

~Kaifi Azmis words and Suraiyas voice....This is beautiful~

glasses_and_candles_11408.gif

Thy voice is on the rolling air;
I hear thee where the waters run;
Thou standest in the rising sun,
And in the setting thou art fair.

What art thou then? I cannot guess;
But tho' I seem in star and flower
To feel thee some diffusive power,
I do not therefore love thee less:

My love involves the love before;
My love is vaster passion now;
Tho' mix'd with God and Nature thou,
I seem to love thee more and more.

Far off thou art, but ever nigh;
I have thee still, and I rejoice;
I prosper, circled with thy voice;
I shall not lose thee tho' I die.

~Lord Alfred Tennyson (from In Memoriam AAH)~

Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end.
There will be no more sunrises, no days, no hours or minutes.
All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten,
will pass to someone else.
Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.
It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed.

Your grudges, resentments, frustrations, and jealousies will finally disappear.
So, too, your hopes, ambitions, plans, and to-do lists will all expire.
The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.
It won't matter where you came from, or on what side of the tracks you lived.
It won't matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant.
Your gender, skin color, ethnicity will be irrelevant.

So what will matter?
How will the value of your days be measured?

What will matter is not what you bought, but what you built;
not what you got, but what you gave.
What will matter is not your success, but your significance.
What will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught.
What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage and sacrifice
that enriched, empowered or encouraged others to emulate your example.

What will matter is not your competence, but your character.
What will matter is not how many people you knew,
but how many will feel a lasting loss when you're gone.
What will matter is not your memories, but the memories of those who loved you.
What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what.

Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident.
It's not a matter of circumstance but of choice.
Choose to live a life that matters.

~ by Michael Josephson ~

Thou wast that all to me, love,

For which my sould did pine

A green isle in the sea, love,

A fountain and a shrine,

All wreathed with fairy fruits and flowers

And all the flowers were mine.

And all my days are trances

And all my nightly derams

Are where thy dark eye glances

And where thy footstep gleams

In what ethereal dances,

By what eternal streams.

~To one in Paradise

Edgar Allan Poe.

the most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. i mean life is tough, it takes up a lot of your time. what do you get at the end of it? a death. whats that? a bonus? i think the lifecycle is all backwards. you should die first, get it out of the way. then you go live in an old age home. you get kicked out for being too healthy, go collect your pension, then when you start work you get a gold watch on your first day. you work forty years until you are young enough to enjoy your retirement. you drink alcohol, you party, you get ready for high school. you go to primary school, you become a kid, you spend your last 9 months floating with luxuries like central heating, spa, room service on tap, then you finish off as an orgasm. amen!
