Cleopatra VII |
When I first ventured into the cyber world and was choosing a name to chat with , this was the
first name that came to my mind. After all what can be more attractive and eye catching than the name of the most talked-about
divas in history. The outstanding personality of Cleopatra has always fascinated me, making her my favorite character in history.
The life and style of Cleoptra have always inspired me and in a way I identified my self
with this remarkable woman. Though my achievements stand way behind her accomplishments, there are certain shades of the personality
that I had identified myself with. No doubts I tried drawing parallelism in many ways and this is where the I thought the
similitude lies.
Cleopatra is the epitome of a phenomenal woman. At
a time when women were confined to the role of home makers, she educated herself to the extent that no ruler would ever be
able to surpass her in knowledge. She was a quick-witted woman who was fluent in nine languages
(I speak seven, gee! ), She was a very good businesswoman. I admire her class,
brains and brawn. She was not afraid to roll up her sleeves and get dirty if need be. She was a powerful
ruler and a good mother to her children. The world was a pawn in her hands. She met
life and death at her own terms. Cleopatra is time less. She had a charismatic personality, was a born leader
and an ambitious monarch who deserved better than suicide (this is were I think
we are poles apart).
Physically, the similarity ends at the most famous long nose.
If
Cleopatra's nose had been shorter, it would have changed the face of world
-Pascal.
Well, I dont agree with this. I think the real beauty lies in a sharp, long
nose. You will know this better if you have seen me
I have made some wonderful friends on the net through this id. Some of them
truly enriched my life with their special friendship.
Thank you buddies

A
little more about the ultimate diva, Cleopatra VII..
Egyptian
empress Cleopatra as an outstanding person attracted people's attention all over the world for more than 2000 years through
stories of her contemporaries, legends, historical researches, narrative literature, poems, pictures and sculptures, musical
compositions and theatrical performances. If the competition "The most famous woman in the world for now and always" was started,
Cleopatra could take the premier place there.
Cleopatra
was 17 or 18 when she became the queen of Egypt. She was far from beautiful, despite her glamorous image today. She is depicted
on ancient coins with a long hooked nose and masculine features. Yet she was clearly a very seductive woman. She had an enchantingly
musical voice and exuded charisma. She was also highly intelligent. She spoke nine languages (she was the first Ptolemy pharaoh
who could actually speak Egyptian!) and proved to be a shrewd politician.
What is often not associated
with Cleopatra was her brilliance and her devotion to her country. She was a mathematician and a very good businesswoman.
She had a genuine respect for Caesar, whose intelligence and wit matched her own. Antony on the other hand almost drove her
insane with his lack of intelligence and his excesses. She dealt with him and made the most of what she had to do.
Lots of stories were written about Cleopatra's beauty
and charisma, she was a kind of sorceress who could easily have won your heart. Cleopatra showed directly she was talented,
she instaured new laws, she devaluated the money by one third for the exportations. She instaured new religious laws in favor
of her own folk. She was also busy trying to solve the international conflicts, mainly with Rome.
The life of Cleopatra is a story of love, greed, and romance. Cleopatra lived after the era of
the pharaohs had passed, but in some parts of her kingdom the Egyptian people worshipped her. Cleopatra was born in Egypt
69 years before the Common Era, but her ancestry was Greek.
Octavian's army defeated Mark Antony's forces and led an
invasion of Egypt in 30 BCE. Antony committed suicide by falling on his sword. When Octavian called Cleopatra to appear before
him, she attempted to charm him, but Octavian showed no interest. Fearing that she would be forced to live as a slave in the
land she once ruled, Cleopatra decided it would be better to end her life. According to legend, the former queen asked that
an asp, an Egyptian cobra, be delivered to her in a basket of figs. The asp was a symbol of divine royalty to the Egyptians,
so by allowing the asp to bite her, Cleopatra is said to have become immortal.
